The Butte County District Attorney has established a tip line for reporting fraud and price gouging related to the wildfire disaster. Call (866) DAFRAUD [866-323-7283]. The most common scams and fraudulent acts that occur in after a major disaster generally include price gouging, offers of debris removal, and fraudulent charitable solicitations.

Exploitative contractors offering cleanup or construction may not be licensed, insured, and bonded, or may not hold a specialty license (if required).
